The Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided to part ways with five coaches this week, one of whom was offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard.
After just one season, Grizzard, who struggled to get consistent performances from his unit, was shown the door as Baker Mayfield will have yet another new voice in his ear in 2026.
And that brings us to an interesting piece of information regarding Baker and his time with the Buccaneers.
He has been with the Buccaneers for three seasons, and entering Year 4, he'll have his fourth different coordinator.
In 2023, it was Dave Canales, in 2024, it was Liam Coen, and this past season was Grizzard.
Baker hasn't gotten any continuity from the coordinator role. So, it will be another offseason of learning a new system with different verbiage.
That isn't ideal.

Grizzard couldn't replicate Coen success
In truth, it was always going to be hard for Grizzard to do it.
But there's no denying that he wasn't helped by the football gods.
Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin all missed significant time in 2025, leaving the offense and Mayfield to play with the bare bones as an offense.
Did that play a role in the Bucs winning just two of their final nine games? Sure.
But it appears Tampa Bay's front office doesn't care.
And now, as Baker enters his fourth year with the Buccaneers, he'll also get coordinator No. 4 as well.
