The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have lost 28-23 to the New England Patriots, but receiver Tez Johnson was again a shining light.
Johnson, who has had to step up in the absence of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, has been a beacon of consistency in the passing game for Baker Mayfield, and his game against the Patriots was again another good one.
Two touchdowns and 42 yards from four receptions continue Johnson's superb past five weeks, that has seen him post at least 40 yards per game, and now he has four touchdowns during that span as he is becoming comfortable in Josh Grizzard's offense.
But given the Buccaneers lost, Tez is forced to flush away yet another good outing.
“Good day,” Johnson said. “Thank God for that. But it's time to go back to work. I mean, you can't really speak on this game. Got mistakes on the field. We leave it out there on the field. Watch film tomorrow and focus on Buffalo.”

Johnson becoming key weapon for Mayfield
While Johnson's stats as a whole are good, what is perhaps the best part of his game and what he's doing for the offense is his yards per reception.
In four of his last five games, Johnson is averaging at least 10.5 yards per catch, meaning he's getting down the field and is becoming a serious weapon for Mayfield.
It does make the offense look what it could be with Evans, Godwin, and Jalen McMillan healthy, along with Emeka Egbuka and Tez, rather scary.
But that injured trio might not return for a while, which means more snaps for Johnson, and more opportunities to show the coaching staff that when that trio does return, he still deserves snaps.
He's done it for five straight games. Now he's got to continue that form.
