Buccaneers tap the brakes on optimism over WR duo returning in Week 14 image

This week has all been about clearing out the treatment room for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with receiver Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan looking likely to hit the practice field.

As it turns out, Evans and McMillan did on Wednesday, which is a great sign for the pair moving forward, but we aren't sure what that means for their potential status for Week 14.

But if Buccaneers fans were getting their hopes up over Evans and McMillan being on the practice field, head coach Todd Bowles might have just dampened the expectations.

"That was a walkthrough, so they didn't do too much," Bowles said. "We'll be interested to see them tomorrow when we're running."

Will Mike Evans return in Week 14?

It feels like the Pro Bowler will be returning sooner rather than later, but Week 14 might come too soon for Evans.

"Physically, he's fine," Bowles added. "He's been running and everything. I can't tell you he's hit anybody. So, we got to see him in a football atmosphere, running routes, pattern-wise, getting acclimated to that. So, it'll be good to see tomorrow."

So, it appears that tomorrow will be a key day in the comebacks of Evans and McMillan with the duo, when they do return, to give Baker Mayfield a host of weapons to attack the final stretch with.

When the Buccaneers take the practice field on Thursday, we know where all the eyes will be.
