We heard that there would be coaching changes for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after it was announced that head coach Todd Bowles would be returning.
And the Buccaneers weren't kidding.
The franchise has swung the axe and reminded us of the brutal nature of this business.
The Buccaneers fired five coaches, with the biggest one being offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard after just one season.
In a statement via ESPN, Bowles made it clear why they were let go.
"Our goal is to compete for championships every year, and it is my responsibility to make these tough decisions in order to reach those expectations. I want to thank these coaches for all that they have contributed to our success over the years, and I wish them well."

Buccaneers not standing still after horror season
If these firings tell us anything, it's that the urgency to win for Tampa Bay is at an all-time high.
Getting rid of this many coaches shows the Buccaneers wanted to clean house in an attempt to get this troubled train back on track.
Exactly who the franchise is looking at filling those roles isn't known right now, but that will likely become clearer as the weeks go on.
But for Grizzard, taking over from Liam Coen was always going to be a tough task, and Tampa Bay has wasted no time in moving on from him as the offense stuttered all season.
The winds of change are blowing through Tampa Bay.
