Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield gives NFL perfect Week 1 setup with Stefanski's Falcons image

The NFL doesn't need help in scheduling blockbuster games, but Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has done just that.

With the Atlanta Falcons hiring Baker's former head coach in Cleveland, Kevin Stefanski, as their head coach, now Mayfield will see his former head coach twice a year.

And yeah, he's more than ready for it.

Baker posted on X that Stefanski, while in Cleveland, shipped Mayfield off "like a piece of garbage" before saying "can't wait to see you twice a year, coach."

And that, my friends, is the NFL's top Week 1 matchup.

Baker has done all the heavy lifting here.

The Buccaneers vs. The Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. Done? Done.

No love lost for Mayfield with Stefanski

Despite the Browns going 11-5 and making the playoffs in 2020, Baker and Stefanski's first year together, the franchise followed it up with an 8-9 record.

So, things weren't all bad, but it was clear Mayfield had run his race in Cleveland after four years.

But Baker is clearly ticked off with how he was treated by Stefanski during his time with the Browns, and now that Kevin is with the Falcons, he gets a shot at retribution.

Having been nothing short of a revelation in Tampa Bay, Baker is nothing like the player he was with the Browns.

And if the NFL schedule-makers know what's good for them, Week 1 will see the Bucs and Falcons face off on primetime.
