Baker Mayfield is having quite the start to the season.
Two games, two last-gasp rallies for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by their fearless quarterback.
And the way he's done it is exceptionally rare. Mayfield is only the second QB to have the types of comebacks he has had in back to back weeks, ever.
Brett Favre, in consecutive games in 1996, matched this feat, per OptaStats.
The criteria: Lead a game-winning touchdown drive that began with under 2:30 left in regulation in two games in a row.

Mayfield did it in Week 1 to beat the Atlanta Falcons. He hit rookie Emeka Egbuka for a late touchdown, and when Atlanta kicker Younghoe Koo missed a last-second field goal, the Bucs were 1-0.
Then on Monday night, Mayfield needed a crazy fourth-and-10 scramble to pick up 15 yards to keep the rally alive.
From there, he completed five consecutive passes before Rachaad White plunged in from a couple yards out with only six seconds to play.

Mayfield has been on point when the Buccaneers have needed it the most in these first two weeks of the season.
Tampa Bay probably wouldn't mind being more comfortably ahead in some of the games to come, but Mayfield has proven he can get the job done even when the Bucs' backs are against the wall. It's been an exceptional way to open the 2025 campaign.
