The Seattle Seahawks, while losing Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams, have had a stellar season to this point. While most don’t believe in moral victories, for a four-interception day from Sam Darnold, to still come down to a winning kick is impressive.

Even though the Seahawks added a loss to the column, there was a more pressing issue at hand by the end of the game.

During the 4th quarter, Seahawks star rookie guard Grey Zabel sustained an injury. While pulling during a Kenneth Walker III touchdown late in the game, Charles Cross got pushed into Zabel’s left knee.

He needed to be helped off the field. For Seahawks faithful, it was one of the worst things you could see at this point in the season.

Today, head coach Mike Macdonald gave everyone an update on the rookie’s injury.

Grey Zabel looks to have avoided serious injury

When Mike Macdonald took the stand, he let the media know that the fears of many Seahawks fans would not be realized.

Macdonald had this to say on his rookie, “Fortunate to avoid something serious. What I heard was day-to-day on Zabel."

The Seahawks have officially avoided disaster. A loss to starting center Jalen Sundell, compounded by losing Grey Zabel for an extended period of time, would have been a nightmare.

The Seahawks have established themselves as one of the best offensive units in the NFL, and much of that is thanks to the impressive offensive line play over the course of the season.

Luckily, Zabel is day to day, and Seattle should have both him and Sundell back well within time for a playoff push.
