The Seattle Seahawks have quite the wild connection to the pope.
Not just the current leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV. But there's something about the year of a new pope that works for the Seahawks.
Shoutout to Seahawks writer Kole Musgrove for pointing this out on X on Sunday.
In 2005, there was a new pope, Benedict XVI. And the Seahawks won 13 games and went to the Super Bowl.
In 2013, there was a new pope, Francis. And the Seahawks won 13 games, went to the Super Bowl and won it.
It's 2025 now. There's a new pope, Leo XIV. The Seahawks have won 13 games.
Will they get to the Super Bowl?
Only time will tell.

The omens set up nicely for Seattle.
The Seahawks have one more game to play, a big one for seeding purposes, against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18.
They're already secure in knowing they'll be in the playoffs.
Once they get there, they might have something divine on their side.
