Seahawks get bad news from NFL on Derick Hall's suspension image

The Seattle Seahawks played the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in an incredible matchup between two of the best teams in the NFL this season.

Seattle won, getting to 12-3, and putting themselves in the driver's seat for the NFC's top seed. But the Seahawks were dealt some tough news amid the win, as young pass rusher Derick Hall was suspended one game for allegedly stepping on a Rams lineman.

Hall appealed the suspension, and on Monday after Week 16, Michael Signora, the NFL's Senior Vice President of Football and International Communications, relayed the final ruling on Hall. It's not a good update for the Seahawks.

"Hearing officer Ramon Foster," Signora shared, "jointly appointed by the NFL and the NFLPA, has upheld the one-game suspension of Seattle's Derick Hall."

The Seahawks will be without Hall in Week 17, as the NFL upheld his one-game suspension. With a match-up against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, the Seahawks' pass rush will be down one key defender.

The 24-year-old pass rusher has 29 tackles this season with just one sack. While he's not been as productive as he has been before in his NFL career, he's contributed to helping the Seahawks defense become one of the best in the NFL.

His one-game suspension will leave the Seahawks to rely upon DeMarcus Lawrence, Drake Thomas, Jared Ivey, and Tyrice Knight as the team's outside linebackers in Week 17.

The Seahawks might face a Panthers team with nothing to play for, or everything to play for, this upcoming week. That could determine if this loss of Hall will be huge or not.

Either way, the Seahawks defense will be short a key player on Sunday in Week 17. With a chance to secure the top seed in the NFC and the NFC West on the line, the Seahawks being one man short will have a big impact this upcoming weekend.
