Seahawks get devastating news on Zach Charbonnet after injury vs. 49ers image

The Seattle Seahawks blew out the San Francisco 49ers, 41-6, but in the process of beating their division rival in the NFC Divisional round, they got some bad news.

Zach Charbonnet went down with an injury in the middle of this game, and it didn't look good. While there wasn't any reporting after the fact on Charbonnet, Monday brought some terrible news.

As Maura Dooley of Seattle Sports shared on Twitter/x, head coach Mike Macdonald revealed that Charbonnet has a significant injury, will need surgery, and is going to miss the rest of the playoffs.

Seahawks get brutal update on Charbonnet

"The bummer is Charbs," Macdonald said. "He's got a significant knee injury, unfortunately. Breaks your heart. He's going to need surgery. He's going to have a long road back."

This is a brutal blow for the Seahawks. While Kenneth Walker is a great running back, the duo with Chrabonnet was finally finding its stride late in the season.

Before the injury, Charbonnet was a big part of the offense for Seattle. He had five attempts for 20 yards on the ground before his unfortunate knee injury.

Walker will now take complete control over the backfield, and coming off a 116-yard, three-touchdown performance, the Seahawks are going to need him to continue producing in the playoffs.

Walker has 1,027 rushing yards this season with five touchdowns, while Charbonnet had 730 yards and 12 touchdowns this year.

The Seahawks are losing a key goal-line back for the NFC Championship game due to a brutal injury to the young Seahawks running back.

Velus Jones Jr. Will get some run behind this offensive line, but with Charbonnet set to miss the rest of the year, the Seahawks will need to sign a new running back to the roster for this upcoming playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.
