The Seattle Seahawks made the trip out East to face the Atlanta Falcons and came away with a big win in Week 14. They're now 10-3, and will at worst sit tied atop the NFC West heading into Week 15.
It was a 37-9 blowout win in Atlanta, the second straight win by at least 26 points, with this win being a 28-point affair. This win not only gave Seattle a big win amid a pursuit of an NFC West title, but it made for some history for Mike Macdonald.
The Seahawks shared on Twitter/X that this win over the Falcons made some franchise history. Macdonald becomes the first coach in team history to reach 10 wins in his first two seasons.

The Seahawks highlighted how Mike Macdonald became the "First head coach in franchise history to start career with back-to-back 10-win seasons."
Macdonald is off to an incredible start in his NFL head coaching career, reaching 10 wins in back-to-back seasons to kick off his tenure in Seattle.
What makes this so impressive is that Macdonald reached 10 wins last season in the final week of the regular season. But this season, he's reached 10 wins in Week 14, with four games to spare.
Macdonald reaches this feat for the first time in franchise history, which is an incredible accomplishment. A lot of the time, a coach comes into a situation that needs a lot of improvement.

While this Seattle team wasn't complete in 2024, he still led them to a solid 10-win season. And this year, thanks to Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba on offense and a dominant defense, the Seahawks reached their 10th win four weeks faster than they did in 2024.
Pete Carroll, one of the best coaches in Seahawks history, never accomplished this feat. He went 7-9 in his first two seasons, and then won at least 10 games for the next five seasons from 2012 to 2016. But even Carroll took time to reach back-to-back double-digit wins.
The Macdonald hire has been a phenomenal one so far, as the Seahawks aren't only in playoff contention or NFC West contention late in the year, they have a realistic chance of winning the Super Bowl.
