The San Francisco 49ers are waiving the white flag in the divisional-round game against the Seattle Seahawks.

With the Niners getting crushed by the Seahawks, 41-6, the Niners have decided to end the night of quarterback Brock Purdy in the fourth quarter. Backup quarterback Mac Jones will be finishing up the game for the Niners.

Prior to his exit, Purdy completed 15-of-27 passes for 140 yards and one pick to go with five carries for 37 yards. Purdy was actually San Fran's leading rusher.

Here's why Purdy was pulled from the game.

Why Brock Purdy was pulled

With the Niners getting blown out, it made no sense to leave Purdy in the game.

Doing so in garbage time wouldn't have been worth risking an injury that could impact him for the 2026 campaign.
