The San Francisco 49ers are playing against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round. It's a difficult matchup for San Francisco, as the Eagles' defense is among the best in the NFL.
Coming into this matchup, there was considerable concern about whether the 49ers would be getting either Ricky Pearsall or Trent Williams for this matchup.
Fortunately, as Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports, the 49ers and Brock Purdy will have their best offensive lineman back, as Williams is active for San Francisco, and will play for the 49ers against Philly.
49ers get big update on Trent Williams for Eagles game
"49ers left tackle Trent Williams is active today against the Eagles," Garafolo revealed. Williams, dealing with a hamstring issue, is playing.
The 49ers are getting their stalwart left tackle back, which is a huge piece of news for San Francisco. Their win-loss record with and without Williams is stark, so his active status is a big deal.
While Pearsall is out, the 49ers' offense having Williams active is a much bigger deal against the Eagles. He's a great lineman, and it's a big deal that he's active this weekend.

Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers offense will rely upon Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle in this game.
Since the Eagles have two All-Pro cornerbacks, going after their other positions and the run game will be the key to victory for San Francisco.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles offense will be without Lane Johnson. While the 49ers' offensive line is at full strength, the Eagles are down their best player.
