The San Francisco 49ers are 3-0 and have shockingly had one of the best offenses in the NFL through three weeks. And that's with two games where Mac Jones was the starting quarterback.
The 49ers are ninth in the NFL in EPA per dropback, and they have weathered the storm amidst several injuries. However, one of their biggest stars will be out longer than initially expected.
49ers general manager John Lynch provided an update on injured wideout Branon Aiyuk, saying he's not close to making a return to the field.
"WR Brandon Aiyuk is 'not close' to returning, per GM John Lynch on KNBR," Ari Meirov reports. "There hasn’t been a setback, but Aiyuk’s ACL tear was not clean and included other damage — leading to a longer timeline for his return."
Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL last season after signing a massive four-year extension following a summer of trade rumors that he would be shipped to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
