The San Francisco 49ers had the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer on their preseason roster, playing the same position as his famous father.
But it wasn't meant to be for the new T.O.
The son of Terrell Owens, named Terique Owens, was waived on Tuesday as part of the NFL's roster cutdown day.
Terique had just caught a touchdown in the preseason finale:
Damn: The 49ers are waiving WR Terique Owens, the son of Terrell Owens, just days after he scored his first touchdown on the team.

Terique has been in the league for more than a year. He played his college football at Florida Atlantic and Missouri State.
The wideout spent last summer with the 49ers, was waived in August and then was signed onto their practice squad in October.
He was hoping his preseason play had done enough talking.
“Preseason, that was my time to go out there, let it all and just play,” Owens told reporters after Saturday's game.

Evidently, though, it had not.
Terique will look to latch on with a practice squad or another team, but for now, he's no longer under contract with his father's first team.
