The San Francisco 49ers have been bit by the injury bug this season and stars Nick Bosa and Fred Warner haven't been immune to that.
Bosa suffered a torn ACL all the way back in Week 3 that has kept him sidelined ever since. Meanwhile, Warner hasn't played since Week 6 after suffering a dislocated and broken ankle.
You probably already know the answer to this question after reading that, but will the Niners get either star defender back this season?
Here's what we know.
Is Nick Bosa coming back this season?
No, Bosa won't play again in 2025 because a torn ACL is typically a nine-month recovery.
"He was pretty confident that he did it," head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Bosa. "You could tell walking on the field, seeing his face and could tell talking to him last night just how sure he was of it and knowing his body, and then an MRI confirmed it this morning."
Since Bosa suffered his injury on Sept. 21, he should be cleared by about June or July, which means he should be ready to roll by training camp, barring any setbacks.
Is Fred Warner coming back this season?
No, Warner won't be back, either.
His dislocated and broken ankle are indeed season-ending issues.
But, assuming he doesn't have any issues during his recovery, Warner should have no problem making it back by training camp next year, and likely well before that.
