Tell me if you've heard this before: the San Francisco 49ers have injury concerns.
San Fran has been bitten by the injury bug plenty over the first three weeks of the 2025 campaign and are now in danger of losing two more playmakers in Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings.
After sitting out last week's game due to shoulder and ankle issues, Jennings was only able to log a single limited practice throughout the week before drawing a questionable tag.
As for Pearsall, Week 4 was the first time this season he has been on the injury report. The second-year receiver did not practice on Wednesday with a knee injury before being limited on Thursday and Friday and also getting the questionable tag.
Here's what we know about the statuses of both receivers for Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Are Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall playing today?
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Saturday night that both Jennings and Pearsall will be active and in the lineup in Week 4.
However, Schefter adds this caveat: Jennings is "likely to be limited" in the game, which means he's playing at less than 100% and may not get a full complement of snaps.
"Both 49ers WRs listed as questionable for Sunday – Ricky Pearsall (knee), Jauan Jennings (shoulder, ankle) – are expected to play Sunday vs. the Jaguars, but Jennings also is likely to be limited, per sources," Schefter reported on X.
We don't like that. We don't like that one bit.
Jauan Jennings start or sit advice
Could Jennings still turn in a good fantasy performance on a limited snap count? Sure, but there's also a high risk of him aggravating his injuries and exiting the contest early, something we've seen from him before.
As a result, we simply cannot suggest Jennings as a starting option in Week 4, outside of the most desperate of desperate situations.
Verdict: Sit
Ricky Pearsall start or sit advice
No George Kittle or Brandon Aiyuk and a limited Jennings puts Pearsall in the driver's seat as the No. 1 option in San Francisco's passing attack. Making his fantasy outlook even better, Brock Purdy is back.
Now add in the fact that the Jaguars are surrendering the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the position this season and Pearsall is a solid WR2 option in Week 4.
Verdict: Start
