Did Fred Warner confirm he was returning for the playoffs? image

Currently, the San Francisco 49ers are battling the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West and the overall No. 1 seed in the playoffs, with the loser falling to the fifth or sixth seed.

Over the course of the season, the Niners have dealt with various injuries to their best players, including linebacker Fred Warner, who dislocated and fractured his right ankle in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Warner has discussed his efforts and desire to come back at some point this season, and now the All-Pro has a targeted time he wants to return to the field during the playoffs.

According to 49ers reporter Matt Barrows of The Athletic, Warner has told his teammates he is targeting a return for the divisional round of the playoffs, meaning that if the 49ers win Saturday's game, it could be the last one without Warner leading the defense.

Even though San Francisco has made do with the multiple injuries to the team, there is no doubt they are a better team with Warner on the field, and adding a great player of his caliber back to the 49ers makes them more dangerous than they already are, especially with how well they have played against tough opponents.

If Warner is not able to go as promised, it's still commendable to know the linebacker is doing everything in his power to help the team be successful as they are attempting to become the third team ever to host the big game in their home stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Los Angeles Rams are the only two to do so and both won the Lombardi Trophy in 2021 and 2022.
