San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey continues to climb the NFL’s all-time receiving list for running backs.
While the 29-year-old had a relatively quiet night statistically in Saturday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, it marked the conclusion of yet another standout season.

McCaffrey finished the game with eight carries for a team-high 23 rushing yards and added six receptions for a team-high 34 receiving yards. Those six catches pushed his career total to 626 receptions, allowing him to pass Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson for third all-time among running backs. Only Larry Centers and Marshall Faulk now remain ahead of him.
McCaffrey ended the season with 102 receptions, the most among NFL running backs, becoming the first player at the position to record at least 100 receptions in three separate seasons (107 in 2018 and 116 in 2019). He now owns three of the top five single-season reception totals by a running back in league history.

McCaffrey’s 924 receiving yards led all NFL running backs this season, and he became just one of three players at the position to post at least 900 receiving yards in two different seasons. McCaffrey is 6th all-time in career receiving yards.
His 413 total touches also extended his franchise record for the most touches in a single season.
