Brock Purdy made the Indianapolis Colts defense look like they weren't even out there.

All night long, the San Francisco 49ers and their quarterback could do pretty much no wrong.

In the end, the 49ers had a 21-point victory, an 11-4 record and a QB who had made some history in the process.

The key note on this night: Purdy threw five touchdowns.

The last time a 49ers QB threw at least five touchdowns in a game? That'd be 1990. The quarterback was Joe Montana.

Real Sports shared that stat in this post on X on Monday night:

That's not bad company to keep.

Five touchdowns is a lot, but it's also not unheard of. It's a bit of a surprise no 49ers player had reached that mark in 35 years.

But now Purdy has broken the seal and done it himself. With the contract he signed in the offseason, he's the 49ers' franchise quarterback now and for the future. They'll be hoping this isn't the last time he has a brilliant night in the national spotlight, either.
