San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk hasn't played a snap for the team since suffering a torn ACL in Week 7 of 2024.

He's played in just seven games for the 49ers since signing a four-year, $120 million contract extension before the start of the 2024 season.

Recent news suggests that the wide receiver has played his final game with the San Francisco 49ers.

Silver: Brandon Aiyuk has 'likely' played his last game with the San Francisco 49ers

Since getting drafted with the 49ers' first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Brandon Aiyuk was paired alongside Deebo Samuel in his first five years to start his pro career. After Samuel was traded to the Washington Commanders this past offseason, Aiyuk may be on his way out the door as well.

"It’s now likely that he (Aiyuk) has played his last game with the franchise, according to numerous sources briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive situation," The Athletic's Dianna Russini and Michael Silver wrote in an article."Some in the organization are holding out hope that the relationship can be salvaged enough for him to return this season. However, multiple sources believe that a reconciliation is unlikely."

Russini and Silver also mentioned that the 49ers voided the guaranteed money that was linked to Aiyuk's contract for 2026. These actions were made due to the receiver not fulfilling his contract obligations. This move would clear the way for San Francisco to release the 27-year-old at the end of this season.

San Francisco has been waiting patiently for Aiyuk's return to the field this season, but with this news, it appears he's most likely not going to play in the 2025 season and will remain on the PUP list.

Brandon Aiyuk's time in San Francisco appears to be over.
