The San Francisco 49ers lost in a heartbreaking game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18 of the regular season and now travel to Philadelphia to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the 49ers might not be at full strength. A few players are questionable for this matchup, with Ricky Pearsall and Trent Williams the most noteworthy names who could miss this playoff game.

However, per Underdog NFL, Williams shared an encouraging update for his status against the Eagles in the playoffs, with the 49ers offensive tackle "confident" he can play.

49ers' Trent Williams 'confident' he'll play in Wild Card vs. Eagles

"49ers LT Trent Williams (hamstring) said he'll be a game-time decision in Wild Card round," Underdog NFL shared. "He also said he feels 'confident,'"

Dealing with a hamstring injury is never easy, but Williams is making enough progress this week to be deemed questionable, and according to his comments, a decent chance to play.

Getting Williams back would be a huge sigh of relief for the 49ers, as the tough Eagles defense could make things very difficult regardless, and if he were out, Brock Purdy and the offense would have a long day.

Not only is he going to be big in pass protection, but in the run game as well. The key to beating this Eagles defense is through the run game, and with Williams set to play, Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers need to be able to run the ball well.

But, while Williams is confident he's going to play, and said as such to reporters, his official status won't be known until Sunday afternoon when inactives are announced.

Williams is a big component of the 49ers offense, and this update from the future Hall of Famer himself is some very welcome news for 49ers fans.

Barring any changes, and Williams feeling well on Sunday, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers are likely to get their offensive tackle back.
