The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a huge primetime win against their rival, the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers managed to make a critical stand in overtime to hold off the Rams. However, their defensive line is becoming a growing concern, prompting the team to hold tryouts.

“Dealing with a laundry list of injuries to the defensive line, the 49ers held tryouts Tuesday with seven defensive linemen, per NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. Tommy Akingbesote, Shakel Brown, Michale Dwumfour, Jonathan Garvin, Bruce Hector, Jah Joyner and DeMarcus Walker all worked out in Santa Clara,” NBC Sports’ Dan Dempster wrote.

A major piece of the defensive line has been missing since earlier in the season, when Nick Bosa went down with a knee injury. That injury turned out to be a torn ACL, ending his season.

“Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that defensive lineman Nick Bosa suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. Bosa will undergo season-ending surgery,” 49ers.com’s Briana Jeannel wrote.

This situation could lead the 49ers to pursue a trade, and PFSN’s Josh Weil has suggested that Cam Jordan could be on his way to the Bay Area.

“After a gritty win against their division rival Rams, the 49ers are here, and once they get rolling, it is tough to stop. With the loss of Nick Bosa for the year, they have a hole at what was once one of their safest positions. I think bringing in a veteran like Cameron Jordan, who has played at an elite level for a very long time and is also hungry to win a Super Bowl before he retires, would be great for the 49ers’ chances of winning the division that they currently lead and making a playoff run,” Weil wrote.

The proposed deal would send a third-round pick in exchange for the veteran. Jordan is a proven game-changer and could provide a much-needed boost to a struggling unit.

Despite the injuries, the 49ers are playing solid football. Acquiring Jordan would help fill a critical gap on the defensive line and strengthen their postseason push.
