The San Francisco 49ers were blown out by the Seattle Seahawks, and now have a lot of work to do this offseason to get back to being a top Super Bowl contender.
While they have some high-quality pieces, the 49ers need to upgrade two spots: pass rusher and wide receiver. Of these two, finding a replacement for Brandon Aiyuk is a must, and fortunately, there's a great option who could be available for trade.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Philadelphia Eagles might be trading away AJ Brown this offseason. The 49ers are one of the teams listed, other than the Buffalo Bills, as a possible landing spot for the Eagles' superstar wide receiver.
49ers linked to Eagles for trade of AJ Brown
"And it feels like it's time," Fowler writes on an AJ Brown trade. "Some league execs have felt that way since October.... Other potential fits, via NFC scouts: the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Las Vegas Raiders."
Brown this season had 73 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. By his standards, this was a disappointing season.
When he's at his best, Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He's only 28 years old and is coming off his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.
He's made it to two Super Bowls with the Eagles, and hasn't had fewer than seven touchdowns each of the last four seasons he's been in Philadelphia.

With Aiyuk's time in San Francisco all but over, the 49ers need to find a replacement this offseason. And instead of trying to find a receiver in the NFL Draft, they could send a top pick to the Eagles for Brown.
It won't be a cheap trade, but considering the 49ers are contenders and in dire need of wide receiver help, Brown would make a ton of sense for the 49ers this offseason.
John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan should do whatever it takes to get Brown from the Eagles, as the superstar wide receiver is a clear top choice for the 49ers this offseason if they want to replace Aiyuk and potentially Jauan Jennings with a good wide receiver.
