TL;DR

  • Brock Purdy is back at practice and aiming to start Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals.
  • Ricky Pearsall returns to practice for the San Francisco 49ers after a six-week knee injury absence.
  • Pearsall's participation in Week 11 is not guaranteed but is a significant step towards rejoining the roster.
  • Coach Kyle Shanahan will assess Pearsall's practice performance to determine his readiness to play.

The San Francisco 49ers, facing numerous player injuries, finally received positive updates. Ahead of Week 11, the 49ers will see two important offensive players return to practice.

Brock Purdy has rejoined practice and is stepping up his involvement, aiming to start in Week 11 versus the Arizona Cardinals. Although his comeback is positive, a key offensive player's return to practice alongside Purdy is arguably the best news this week.

According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the 49ers are getting Ricky Pearsall back at practice for the first time since his Week 4 injury.

Ricky Pearsall of the 49ers will practice for the first time in six weeks.

A knee injury that's held him out for six weeks is finally looking like it's turning the corner, as he's poised to practice on Wednesday.

While his participation in Week 11 isn't guaranteed, this marks a significant stride toward the first-round wideout rejoining the 49ers' roster.

Vic Tafur of The Athletic shared that Kyle Shanahan was told Pearsall is healthy and should be good to go as long as he sees Pearsall practice well this week.

"(Trainers) told me he's healthy," Shanahan said. "When I see it with my own eyes, he's good to go."

The report that Pearsall is practicing, combined with Shanahan's comments, is some great news for the 49ers' wide receivers' chances of playing soon.

Pearsall missed Weeks 5 through 10, and could finally return in Week 11 if Shanahan likes what he sees on the practice field.

Before missing significant time, Pearsall had 20 receptions for 327 yards in four weeks. His last performance was a four-reception, 46-yard outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars back in Week 4.

Over a month later, Pearsall is practicing and has a chance to play for the 49ers. It's not official, but after such an extended absence, these reports are some great news for Pearsall and the San Francisco offense.
