Just more than a month after signing a veteran wide receiver, the San Francisco 49ers have reversed their decision.

It might signal that the WR corps is less injured than they appear, or it's just a vote of no confidence.

Either way, Robbie Chosen was cut on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions report.

Chosen is the speedy wideout who entered the NFL as an undrafted player out of Temple who was then known as either Robby or Robbie Anderson.

He debuted with the New York Jets in 2016. He has played nine seasons in the NFL, also including time with the Panthers, Cardinals and Dolphins.

Chosen spent the past two seasons with Miami. He played nine games (four catches) in 2023 and just two games in 2024 with a single catch for five yards.

In his career, Chosen has played 122 games, caught 380 passes, totaled 5,087 yards and received 30 touchdowns.

At age 32, Chosen signed with the 49ers in early August as they battled injury troubles, and he had one big second half in a preseason game against backups, but that was about it.

The 'Niners did recently sign old friend Kendrick Bourne, which probably made Chosen just a tad more expendable.

Given his recent lack of productivity, it seems like the best Chosen could do elsewhere in the league is a practice squad spot. So this will be a chance to see how badly he wants to keep his football career alive.
