Christian McCaffrey has finally got past last season's injury woes.

Well, just in time to have something new pop up for the San Francisco 49ers' superstar running back.

On Thursday, CMC's name showed up on the 49ers' injury report. He was listed as limited with a calf injury.

This wasn't on Wednesday's report, so it must be something new.

It's bad timing, with the 49ers slated to open the 2025 regular season Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

McCaffrey's got a new backup, Brian Robinson Jr. from the Commanders, but San Francisco doesn't want to think about that. They want McCaffrey to play.

Last season, McCaffrey hardly played. He first had an Achilles problem, then encountered a PCL issue in his knee.

When McCaffrey is right, he's hard to stop.

Two seasons ago, McCaffrey was the best running back in football. He led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards, scored 14 touchdowns, and also caught 67 passes for 564 yards and seven more TDs.

But last season, McCaffrey only got on the field for four games. He carried 50 times for 202 yards (4.0 ypc) and had 15 catches for 146 yards.

He wasn't the only injury problem for the 49ers, but he was one of the biggest, and San Francisco scuffled to a 6-11 record.

To get this season off to a good start, CMC needs to be on the field.

And right now, 49ers fans will be awaiting the Friday injury report to hope things get better and not worse.
