The San Francisco 49ers have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season, and while the offense has been hit, only one player has been spared all year.

That player is Christian McCaffrey. He came into the year with some injury concerns, but he's since played in every game and has looked healthy all year.

Unfortunately, as Tom Pelissero of NFL Network shared, McCaffrey was downgraded to questionable for Sunday's Week 15 Tennessee Titans matchup due to an injury, putting his status for this weekend up in the air.

49ers' Christian McCaffrey added to injury report with back issue

"49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (back) has been added to the injury report and is questionable for tomorrow's game versus the Titans," Pelissero reports.

This is a massive piece of news to break on Saturday, 24 hours before the 49ers and Titans off in San Francisco on December 14th.

McCaffrey has gone the entire season without missing a game, but now, with this back injury popping up late in the week, there's a chance he misses his first game this season.

Even if he does play, this late injury update is a very concerning one going forward. The 49ers have been dealing with injuries all season, and McCaffrey is now at risk of missing his first game. And if this back issue lingers, he could be out for a bit longer.

McCaffrey has been incredible this season, recording 849 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 237 rushing attempts, along with 85 receptions on 107 targets for 806 yards and five touchdowns.

While his efficiency hasn't been great, his volume and touchdown productivity have made the 49ers' superstar running back more than capable of leading the offense.

But now, with this late addition to the injury report, there are both short and long-term concerns for the 49ers running back.
