Brock Purdy's new contract with the San Francisco 49ers earned all the headlines for the big dollar total.

Five years for $265 million? Yeah, that'll grab some attention.

But the franchise QB got more than just a lot of money. He also got a key bargaining chip in his new deal.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Sunday night that Purdy also got a full no-trade clause in the contract that will last for the length of the deal.

"Purdy gets financial security and control over his future in a deal that will be finalized and official soon," Garafolo wrote

Given that the 49ers are hitching their future to Purdy, it probably wasn't a huge ask to get the no-trade clause into the contract.

But it has to feel good for Purdy, who controls his entire future through the end of this deal.

It'd be hard to trade such an expensive QB down the road, but now it pretty much won't happen, unless Purdy were to force his way out of town.

In the meantime, the former Mr. Irrelevant is paid as the seventh-highest quarterback in the league, tied with Lions veteran Jared Goff.

It's been an incredible rise for Purdy, and San Francisco's new deal for him ensures he won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
