Chris Boswell had never made a kick this long.

But given the way Mike Tomlin views the Pittsburgh Steelers' kicker, it's no surprise that Boswell trotted out there on a crucial fourth-and-11 from the positive 42-yard line.

For those doing the math at home: That's a 60-yard field goal.

Boswell's career-long field goal before Sunday was 59 yards.

The Steelers trailed the New York Jets, 32-31.

Boswell drilled it, with room to spare.

And here's what Tomlin told reporters after the game:

"I can't say enough about [Boswell] -- our kicker is a serial killer."

Why Mike Tomlin called Chris Boswell a 'serial killer'

Boswell has been automatic for the Steelers lately.

He was the best kicker in the NFL last season. He was 41-for-44, with 13-for-15 from beyond 50 yards.

It's been quite the glow-up for Boswell.

In 2022, he made just 20 of his 28 field goal attempts.

But then in 2023, he likely saved his career by going 29-for-31 on his field goals (6-7 from 50-plus).

And then he had his incredible kicking clinic all of last season.

So Tomlin knows he's got a star kicker. He just used quite the word to describe him.
