DK Metcalf certainly looks cool out there in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform wearing the number 4 on his jersey.
But it's not the number that Seattle Seahawks fans were used to. When Metcalf was playing in the Pacific Northwest, he wore the No. 14.
Metcalf chose 4 as soon as he was traded to the Steelers.
But the reason why he went with the single digit is a rather ironic one now.

Why does DK Metcalf wear jersey number 4?
DK Metcalf wears 4 for the Steelers because of George Pickens.
When Metcalf was traded, the Steelers still had their previous star WR, Pickens. It looked like Metcalf and Pickens would form a dynamic duo at wide receiver.
And Pickens already wore 14 on his jersey.
So Metcalf chopped off the 1 and made it just 4 for himself.
Of course, Pickens was then traded away to the Dallas Cowboys. At that point, Metcalf stuck with what he'd chosen.
Pickens is wearing the No. 3 in Dallas.
The RB Kenneth Gainwell is now wearing 14 for Pittsburgh.
