The Pittsburgh Steelers looked at their roster and recognized they needed additional depth in the secondary for Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns.
They made a free agent signing on Thursday to make that happen.
The new guy? Tre Flowers, a DB whose signing to the active roster was reported by ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
Flowers was most recently with the Detroit Lions, for whom he played two games in 2025.
The 6-foot-3 Flowers was originally a fifth-round pick of the Seahawks in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State.

Flowers played his first 47 NFL games with the Seahawks.
From there, he went to the Cincinnati Bengals, then Atlanta Falcons, then Jacksonville Jaguars, then Indianapolis Colts before the Lions.
In his career, Flowers has played 97 games. He has four career interceptions and 22 passes defensed.
He has forced five fumbles and had 2.0 sacks.
Flowers has 287 career tackles, although he's fallen off greatly in the last few years.
Now he'll get a chance to prove what he can do in Steelers colors.
