The Pittsburgh Steelers made a major investment in DK Metcalf this offseason, trading to get him from the Seattle Seahawks and then handing him a nine-figure contract extension.
That made it quickly concerning when his name showed up on Thursday's injury report out of the blue.
But a quick moment later, it became clear everything was OK.
The Steelers gave Metcalf off from Thursday's practice for a "vet day," resting the veteran player just to keep his body fresh.

It's something a lot of NFL teams do, including the Steelers. T.J. Watt got a veteran day off on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh had a great win in Week 1, coming back to beat the Jets, 34-32. In that game, Metcalf had four catches for 83 yards.
He was quieter in Week 2, although he did score. The Steelers lost to Metcalf's former Seahawks, 31-17. Metcalf had three grabs for 20 yards and a TD.
The Steelers travel to New England to take on the 1-1 Patriots in Week 3. It could be a key pivot point game for two teams trying to hang in the outskirts of the playoff picture.
Pittsburgh will be hoping Metcalf is refreshed and ready to lead them to a win.
