Chris Boswell has been as consistent as they come for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the years, and that's especially true on extra points.
But the seemingly impossible happened on Sunday night: Boswell missed a crucial extra point in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, which was his first miss since 2023.
As the Ravens drove down the field to put themselves in position to win the game and the AFC North with a field goal, it looked like Boswell was going to have to live with his stunning misfire.
Thankfully for Boswell, the Ravens' kicker, Tyler Loop, did what rookie kickers sometimes do and missed a very makeable field goal to propel the Steelers to a victory.
And, it just so happens that the end zone Loop's missed kick sailed over was blessed by a priest before the game started.
Yes, we're serious.
Before kickoff, the NBC broadcast showed video of a priest blessing that same end zone prior to kickoff.
It isn't clear if this is a normal thing or something Pittsburgh did for this game alone, but it happened and it's awesome.
Chalk it up to the perils of having a rookie kicker, divine intervention, or both, but Boswell was bailed out from an ending he didn't deserve and now the Steelers are going to the playoffs.
