Steelers look to break brutal 9-year drought, against Texans in Wild Card game image

Another regular season in the NFL has passed, and the Steelers have once again found themselves in the postseason.

Making the postseason is an accomplishment, and not an easy feat for any team in the NFL. Although the Steelers have consistently clinched a berth in recent seasons, they have struggled to do anything beyond just making it.

What drought are the Steelers looking to break on Monday?

Jan. 15, 2017, was the last day that the Steelers won a postseason game.

Since then, the Steelers have lost six consecutive games.

Only the Dolphins have a drought that long currently, as they have lost their last six playoff games dating back to 2001 (25 seasons since their last playoff win).

The Steelers were only home twice in their last six playoff games, so maybe being home tonight could be what Pittsburgh needs to turn the tide.

They've lost by just an average of 7 points in those home games compared to an average deficit of 17 points in their four away games.

Aaron Rodgers is looking to break a drought of his own, as he's lost his last two postseason games, looking for his first win in a postseason game since January 2021.

Since winning the Super Bowl in the 2008-09 season, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers have a record of 5-10 in the postseason.

Monday night's game will be the first time that the Steelers face off against the Texans in the playoffs, but they have faced each other eight previous times in the regular season, with the Steelers as the stronger team with a record of 5-3.
