The Pittsburgh Steelers' second unofficial depth chart of the preseason dropped on Thursday and there was one notable change to point out.

That change came at right tackle behind starter Troy Fautanu, where veteran Andrus Peat was placed ahead of Dylan Cook.

Peat was signed by Pittsburgh less than a week ago and offers another depth option at both tackle and guard. Peat has played mostly guard during his career, but he also has over 2,000 career snaps at tackle, with 1,959 coming on the left side and 80 on the right side.

Peat last played significant snaps at left tackle in 2023 for the New Orleans Saints. He surrendered two sacks and 30 pressures in 476 pass-blocking snaps that season and posted a Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade of 62.1.

The three-time Pro Bowler spent the 2024 campaign with the Las Vegas Raiders, but played sparingly. He saw 57 snaps in total (38 pass-blocking) and gave up one sack and three pressures while posting grades of 34.3 in run-blocking and 30.8 in pass-blocking.

Given Cook's inexperience, it's not at all surprising to see the more experienced Peat jump him on the depth chart immediately.

Hopefully we never have to find out, but it'll be interesting to see if Peat is really the first tackle off the bench if either Fautanu or Broderick Jones get hurt, or if the Steelers will opt for Calvin Anderson instead.
