Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott will be a little lighter in the wallet after he was fined for a uniform infraction following the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
According to a letter from the NFL that was shared by Elliott on social media, an unauthorized towel is the reason for Elliott's fine. More specifically, a black towel Elliott wore was the culprit of his being hit for $5,797.
"Towels, provided they are white only, licensed towels approved by the League office for use on the playing field," the rule states. "Players are prohibited from adding personal messages, logos, names, symbols or illustrations."
Upon receiving the letter, Elliott took to Instagram to share his displeasure with the fine — and that's putting it nicely.
"Count your f****** days... Y'all worried about the wrong things. Let's fix things that actually mean something," Elliott wrote.

That is just a silly rule, especially considering the Steelers have black in their uniforms.
Elliott made his return to the field in Week 4 after a two-game absence due to a knee injury. The veteran made an immediate impact by tallying both a sack and interception in the contest.
