Chris Boswell is one of the most reliable kickers in the NFL.
He had the worst moment of his kicking career on Sunday night for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers scored a touchdown with less than a minute left, a pass from Aaron Rodgers to Calvin Austin. It put Pittsburgh up 26-24 before the point after.
Boswell, ever reliable, lined up for the extra point to go up three and prevent a Ravens field goal from winning the game.
But then his kick tailed wide right, and the Steelers' lead remained just two.
Boswell had made all 42 of his extra points this season before the miss.
He made all 35 of his point afters last season.
MORE: Travis Kelce's potential last game before retirement was an absolute bummer
Boswell's last PAT miss came in the 2023 season, when he was 27-for-28.
Before the miss, in total the last four years, he was 121-for-122 on extra points.
Boswell has just simply been so, so good for the Steelers. He was a bit of a bumpier kicker early in his career, but lately, he's grown into one of the league's best.
This was a total anomaly, but it came at the absolute worst time.
The Steelers needed this win (or tie) to make the postseason. This win put that all in jeopardy.
