DK Metcalf is suspended.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' star wide receiver will miss the final two games of the season after his incident Sunday in which he shoved a Lions fan.
The NFL isn't quite done, though, even after Metcalf appealed and had his two-game suspension upheld.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday morning that the league is also looking into the fan side of things.
"The fan’s actions and interaction with D.K. Metcalf from Sunday’s game in Detroit remains under review, per the NFL," Schefter wrote on X. "Based upon information from Metcalf in his appeal hearing Tuesday, the league will be in touch with the Lions regarding the fan code of conduct."

Reports have indicated that there was a history here, that this fan also got after Metcalf when he played for the Seahawks.
Clearly, the NFL doesn't want its players engaging negatively with the fans. But it makes sense that the league also wouldn't want its fans being overly aggressive toward the players.
It's a tough balance to strike, especially in stadiums with tens of thousands of people.
But this is something the NFL can try and learn from, to understand what the biggest risks might be in a given situation, and to try to remedy them before anything like this can happen again.
