There's a chance that this offseason is a particularly busy one for quarterback trades.

Two teams that could be interested? The Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

The Steelers will likely be looking to replace Aaron Rodgers, assuming he indeed does retire.

The Colts will need at least a fill-in for Daniel Jones after his torn Achilles.

One name that could work for either squad: Mac Jones. Jones is currently the backup to Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers, and he played rather well when he had to start earlier in the season.

Jones was once the No. 15 overall pick by the Patriots, and he has since bounced to the Jaguars and now the 'Niners.

ESPN's Dan Graziano sees Pittsburgh and Indianapolis as logical landing spots for Jones.

"Mac Jones is under contract with the 49ers for next year at $2.8 million, but the way he played in relief of Brock Purdy this season has people wondering what it would take to trade for him (and presumably pay him more) to come in and compete for a starting role," Graziano wrote on Wednesday. "There are plenty of teams with unsettled 2026 quarterback situations (Colts? Steelers?) Which could look to a 27-year-old former first-round pick who has been through the Kyle Shanahan career rehab program as part of their potential solution."

The Steelers and Colts aren't created equally here, though.

Assuming the Colts re-sign Jones after his injury, he'll be coming back eventually.

The Steelers would be operating under the assumption that Rodgers wasn't coming back, which means a full-time starter job as open. In Indy, it'd be more like a fill-in position.

It'll all matter when it comes time to finally make a move.
