The Pittsburgh Steelers added a new cornerback to their roster ahead of the Week 11 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
That cornerback was none other than former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., who signed this past week after not playing a snap over the first 10 weeks due to his recovery spinal fusion surgery in April.
"I feel great," Samuel Jr. Said Wednesday. "It's the healthiest I've ever been, been dealing with it and I got it fixed, so now I feel good."
While it's great to see Samuel healthy and ready to play, will he be on the field for the Steelers in Week 11 against the Bengals? Here's what we know.
Is Asante Samuel Jr. Playing today?
No, Samuel Jr. Will not play in Week 11 for the Steelers, as the team did not elevate him from the practice squad on Saturday.
The Steelers could sure use Samuel Jr. As soon as possible, though.
Not only is Darius Slay injured, he has been terrible overall this season.
Adding to that, the Steelers have moved fellow cornerback Jalen Rams ey to safety, so he isn't an option, and Joey Porter Jr. Has been very disappointing.
That means Samuel Jr. Could step into a starting role immediately, but we'll have to wait until at least next week to find out if that happens.
