The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled out a 27-22 upset win over the Ravens in Baltimore in Week 14 to reclaim their spot atop the AFC North at 7-6. Their QB, Aaron Rodgers, also reclaimed his own top spot over Ravens QB Lamar Jackson—but on an all-time list.

Rodgers had one of his best games in the Black & Gold, tossing it for 284 yards (a season-high) and a TD while completing 68 percent of his passes. That last is even more impressive considering he completed four passes for 30+ yards. He had seven total on the season previously.

That gave Rodgers a passer rating of 103.1 on the day, his seventh game with a rating of 100+ this season. That, combined with another rough day for Lamar Jackson as he put up just a 71.0 rating, allowed the Steelers QB to reclaim his old spot atop the all-time passer rating rankings.

Jackson had previously pushed Rodgers off that perch, but the 42-year-old veteran said not so fast. After the game, The Athletic’s Steelers beat writer, Mike DeFabo, tweeted out the updated all-time passer rating chart. It showed Rodgers (102.4 career passer rating) leapfrogging Jackson (102.2) for the top spot.

The top 10 list shows just how far quarterback play has come over the last few years. Eight of those top 10 all-time in passer rating are still playing, and the other two retired in the 2020s.

Rodgers’ solid performance in the hostile environs of M&T Bank Stadium in Maryland pushed his passer rating on the season to 96.2, which is 12th in the NFL this season.

If he can cobble together a couple more good performances down the stretch here, he could finish with a passer rating of 100+ for the ninth time in his career. That would bring him to within one of Drew Brees’ record 10 such seasons.

While retaking an all-time NFL record will have Rodgers chuffed, it was likely a different accomplishment against Baltimore that he was happiest about.

Aaron Rodgers also climbed the all-time QB rushing TD list

After dropping one in the bucket for D.K. Metcalf 42 yards down the field on Pittsburgh’s first possession, Rodgers took matters into his own hands. The 42-year-old scrambled to his left and showed off the athleticism he still possesses on a one-yard TD run to cap the drive.

We also got the first “Discount Double Check” celebration from Rodgers in a Steelers uniform. And perhaps his first overall in quite some time. Even Mike Tomlin got in on the celebration, as this was a massive game for the coach specifically.

It was Rodgers’ first rushing TD since the 2022 season and the 36th of his career. Believe it or not, his 36 career rushing TDs are good for 11th among QBs all-time. He’s tied with Michael Vick and just ahead of more classical dual-threats like Randall Cunningham and Jackson himself.

After a rough week with the local media circling Mike Tomlin, Rodgers, and the Steelers, the good feelings are back with the Steel City back in first in the AFC North. And Rodgers hopes that means Pittsburgh media will quiet down for a little while.
