The Pittsburgh Steelers have a decision to make.
Aaron Rodgers may or may not have the power to help make it.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback has a fracture in his left wrist. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears in Week 12. And it's not yet clear as of early Sunday morning which way this will go.
Will Rodgers start? Or will Mason Rudolph get the call?
It sounds like Rodgers' playing status will be decided pretty close to game time.
This is what ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday night:
"Aaron Rodgers has been pushing to play Sunday vs. The Bears, but Steelers doctors have been more cautious and guarded, per sources. If the decision is left to Rodgers, he will play, but the team has declined to provide hints as to its final decision."
Rodgers is pretty stubborn, so he might win out on this one.
He's also 24-5 in his career against the Bears, and although he said this week that wouldn't factor into his decision, there's also some positive vibes in general when Rodgers sees Chicago on the other side.
Rudolph is a pretty reliable backup and would give Pittsburgh a chance to win if Rodgers sits. His backup would be sixth-round rookie Will Howard in that scenario.
The Steelers' passing attack would definitely have expectations lowered if Rodgers can't play. It's also not clear whether if Pittsburgh might still hold back some offensive choices if Rodgers does play just to try and protect him.
Either way, this will likely be a pretty important decision.
