Are the Pittsburgh Steelers going to have Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback in 2025? That question has and will be asked plenty until a final decision is made by either side.
It remains to be seen what will happen on that front, although Jeremy Fowler reported that the two sides are "in contact" and the Steelers are "hopefully" that a deal gets done with the veteran signal-caller.
Kurt Benkert, a former teammate of Rodgers, gave his thoughts on the veteran's current free agent standing with a couple of posts on X.
"I don’t think Aaron Rodgers is going to Pittsburgh. If I was him, I’d wait to see what injuries happen throughout the early part of the season."
Benkert spent just one season with the Packers, so take it as you will. But, it's an interesting scenario he has revealed. Rodgers could sit and wait to see what injuries take place while enjoying some much-needed time off.
Could that land him on a playoff contender? Possibly. Could that ramp up the market for him? Maybe.
But, it's a risk that he would be taking, and it would keep him away from organized team activities for the next couple of months, or possibly more.
At this point, nobody has the slightest idea what Rodgers will do, when he will decide on his future, or if he even plays football again.
