Before the trade deadline, the Philadelphia Eagles added some much-needed help in their cornerbacks room by acquiring Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens.

The Eagles had a clear need at the position thanks to the poor play of Kelee Ringo and Adoree' Jackson opposite Quinyon Mitchell. Philly also acquired slot corner Michael Carter in a trade with the New York Jets.

While we were hoping to see Alexander make his Eagles debut in the Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, that is not going to happen, as the Eagles ruled Alexander out on Sunday.

Why Jaire Alexander won't make Eagles debut

According to ESPN's Tim McManus, Alexander isn't playing because of his knee, but also because the Eagles want to give him more time to get acclimated with the defense.

"The Eagles have a plan in place both for Alexander's knee and for his acclimation to their defensive system and decided it was best to have him stay back and continue his preparations," McManus reported.
