When Jalen Hurts came into the NFL, he didn't wear the jersey number he has now.
The rookie version of Jalen Hurts wore No. 2.
It was only in year two that Hurts became No. 1.
Hurts has become famous with a 1 on his chest and back. He has a Super Bowl, and he's become the face of the Eagles' dominant tush push.
First, he had to cut his uniform number in half.

Why did Jalen Hurts change his jersey number from 2 to 1?
Hurts has pretty much only worn 1 or 2 in his career at various stops.
He had No. 2 in high school and when he played at Alabama.
When he transferred to Oklahoma, he became 1 because CeeDee Lamb already had 2.
When he got drafted, punter Cameron Johnston already had 1, so Hurts went back to his usual 2.
But when Johnston left, Hurts chose to go to 1 to show that he's QB1 while embracing the special season he had with the Sooners.
