The Philadelphia Eagles have been eliminated from the postseason after a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild card round. One year after winning the Super Bowl, the Eagles go one-and-done in the playoffs, and now many questions face the franchise - none bigger than the future of their star wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Timeline of drama between A.J. Brown and Philadelphia Eagles

The All-Pro wide receiver has shown frustration all season long due to his lack of consistent targets in the offense. This started in Week 4 after Brown posted a photo on X of a quote that made it clear he was unhappy. The quote read, "If you're not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way."

Brown deleted the photo shortly after posting.

Then, a few weeks later after the Eagles' Week 6 loss to the New York Giants, it was reported that Brown and other Eagles offensive leaders had a meeting to address frustrations with the offense. When asked about the meeting, Brown said he didn't know what the reporters were talking about.

"A.J. Brown asked about the meeting with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley this week repeatedly says he didn’t recall any meeting," Mike Garafolo reported on X. "When told Hurts and Barkley confirmed it, he says you’d have to talk to them. As for the Eagles’ offense: 'We’re still trying to find our identity.'"

About a month later, Brown was on a stream (voice only, never seen) with streamer JankyRondo, where he again was critical of his role in the offense as he told everyone who had him on fantasy to get rid of him. He then addressed this with the media.

"It's the same things I've been saying all season," Brown said via Nick Shook. "So me making light of my situation on Twitch with my friend, that's something I'm not apologizing for. Because, like I said, if you have eyes, you can see that."

And finally, on Sunday night in the wild card matchup with the 49ers, Brown and head coach Nick Sirianni were screaming at one another on the sideline, which could be the final image fans have of Brown in an Eagles uniform. After the loss, Brown reportedly got out of Lincoln Financial Field as fast as possible.

"A.J. Brown just went around to a bunch of teammates in the locker room, hugged them, and bounced," Jimmy Kempski of The Philly Voice reports.

Perhaps this is Brown saying his goodbyes to his Eagles teammates.

Will the Eagles trade A.J. Brown?

It's a lot easier for the Eagles to trade Brown after winning a Super Bowl. Had they fallen short and not defeated the Kansas City Chiefs again in Super Bowl LIX, this would be a much harder pill to swallow. However, considering the seemingly mutual frustration between Brown and the team, it feels more likely than not that Brown gets traded in the offseason.
