The Philadelphia Eagles are locked in a tense division battle with the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium and trailing 20-17 to begin the third quarter.
But if the Eagles are to mount a comeback, they are going to have to do it without star corner Quinyon Mitchell.
Mitchell injured his hamstring early in the first half and was seen on the sidelines without his helmet, and shortly after the third quarter began, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posted on X that Mitchell was officially ruled out of the game after initially being listed as questionable.
With Jaxson Dart and the Giants offense rolling in the first half, scoring 20 points, and Dart a menace on the ground, rushing for 38 yards and a touchdown, the Eagles' defense had a tough time stopping him and the offense.
And that looks like it is going to be a little tougher with Mitchell now forced to sit and watch.

Eagles locked in NFC East dog fight
While the Eagles, on paper, were overwhelming favorites, the Giants, with Dart and Cam Skattebo, have some good vibes flowing right now, and the Eagles? Well, after the midweek meeting, it isn't exactly strawberries and rainbows.
And as the third quarter continued, the Giants, leading 20-17, the Eagles are going to have to sort themselves out, on the road, and mount a comeback without Mitchell to get back on the winner's list at MetLife Stadium.
The Eagles have been the hot topic of discussion this week, and we imagine that this will only intensify if things go south against the Giants.
