Another year, another new offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.
After a disappointing end to the 2025 season, head coach Nick Sirianni decided to move on from Kevin Patullo after just one season. Now, for the fourth offseason in a row, the Eagles are looking for a new offensive coordinator.
The Eagles have conducted several interviews for the job already, but on Saturday, they brought in a familiar face.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the team brought in Mike Kafka for an interview on Saturday. Kafka was the offensive coordinator and interim head coach of the New York Giants in 2025.
With the Giants finalizing a deal to make John Harbaugh their next head coach, Kafka seemingly has no role in New York. Kafka joined the Giants as offensive coordinator in 2022, and held that role, on top of interim head coach duties, until the end of 2025.
The Eagles have some familiarity with Kafka due to playing against his teams multiple times per year for the last four seasons. Additionally, Kafka was a fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2010 and spent two seasons with the team.
In 2021, Kafka's first year as the offensive coordinator in New York, the Giants had unprecedented success and made it to the postseason. Quarterback Daniel Jones had his most productive season, throwing for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns.
It's been a rough few seasons since then for Kafka and the Giants, but the roster hasn't exactly been loaded with talent. Quarterback Jaxson Dart impressed at times under Kafka in 2025, and there's reason to believe the coach could succeed in a different environment.
Kafka and Zac Robinson are the two candidates who have interview for the job so far, but the Eagles are casting a wide net. Jim Bob Cooter, Charlie Weis Jr., Mike McDaniel, and Brian Daboll are some of the other names the Eagles are reportedly interested in.
Whoever the Eagles hire, they will certainly be hoping it's a long-term solution. Since Shane Steichen left to become the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2021, the Eagles have had a different offensive coordinator each season.
