This seems like one of those things that you just couldn't do.

Philadelphia Eagles lineman Fred Johnson had a different idea, though.

On Sunday, on his first play, Johnson ran onto the field without his helmet.

Seriously.

He had to run to the sideline, get it, and hustle back out.

They showed it on the Fox broadcast, and Eagles beat writer Brooks Kubena confirmed that that was exactly what happened:

The start to the game did not immediately get better for the Eagles.

They were called for illegal formation on the opening kickoff. Then they went 3-and-out with three pass attempts in the pouring rain.

At least everyone remembered their helmets on those ensuing plays.
